In Mike’s words
Where Mike
Kapigian stands.
I am explicit in my values and transparent about where I stand on the issues that the citizens are concerned about, unlike the vague, aspirational tone common in so much campaigning today.

Public property
Make sure valuable City properties cannot be sold without voter approval, including but not limited to the old Bolton Fire Station, Robinwood Station, Library, Norfolk Street operation center site, and the old City Hall.
Neighborhood associations
Revitalize West Linn’s neighborhood associations and encourage greater citizen engagement.
Public participation
Push back against recent state legislation that seeks to severely limit or exclude public participation in land use planning decisions.
High-density development
Push back against recent state efforts to impose high-density development, supposedly to address housing affordability, but in actuality would leave West Linn overcrowded and less livable.
Highway 43
I do not support extreme high-density, traffic-worsening redevelopment along Highway 43.
West Linn’s strengths
Recognize West Linn is one of the best communities in which to live, and not a city that is broken in need of fixing.
Campaign contributions
I will not take contributions from developers.
City finances
Attempt to finance the city’s operations and services with existing resources and without continually resorting to fee increases, levies or bonds.
Willamette Wetlands
Strongly pursue permanent protection and preservation of the entire Willamette Wetlands.
A guiding star
for every decision
“Is this decision enhancing or detracting from the long-term livability and quality of life in West Linn?”— Mike Kapigian
